About me
Hi there! I’m Shanna Dillard, and I’m a school counselor at Bradley Central High School. With a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master’s in School Counseling, I’m passionate about supporting students in overcoming obstacles—both in and out of the classroom. I have also worked as a mental health case manager and a severe child abuse investigator, giving me a unique perspective on how to help youth navigate life’s toughest challenges.
I hold certifications in Trauma and Crisis Counseling, Mental Health Specialization, and Legal and Ethical Practices, and I’m also certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training). These certifications are a part of my commitment to providing compassionate support to students facing emotional or mental health struggles.
In addition to my work at school, I serve as the Treasurer for the Tennessee School Counseling Association (TSCA) and am a member of the School Counseling Advisory Council for the Tennessee Department of Education. These roles allow me to stay connected with the broader education community and advocate for the needs of school counselors across the state.
When I’m not working with students, I love tapping into my creative side. I own a small business called The Oak Market, where I offer custom hand lettering, painting, and home/wedding décor. It’s my creative escape! I’m also a proud cat and dog mom, an avid reader, and someone who’s happiest when spending time outdoors—especially in the mountains.
