Dr. Lori K. Teuton is a seasoned educator with over 20 years of experience in teaching English language arts and social studies across middle school, high school, and college levels. She holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of South Carolina, a Master's in English from Shippensburg University, and a Bachelor's in English with a minor in history from Texas A&M University-Texarkana. Lori has also achieved National Board Certification in English Language Arts and holds endorsements in Talented and Gifted Teaching.
Her career includes roles as a secondary teacher in diverse settings, an adjunct English professor, and a program director for the Teaching Fellows at Charleston Southern University. Known for her dedication to fostering critical thinking and literary appreciation, Lori has taught in Title 1 schools, detention centers, and international home-school settings, adapting her expertise to meet varied student needs. She has also contributed as a curriculum writer, mentor, and sponsor for student organizations promoting equity and excellence.
Lori joined BCHS in 2022 and currently teaches bible as literature and dual enrollment composition 1 & 2 through Cleveland State Community College. She is proud to be a bear where she can continue her commitment to education and professional growth.
